  • Product description

Electrodeionization (EDI), also known as continuous electrodeionization technology, scientifically integrates electrodialysis technology and ion exchange technology. Through the selective permeability of anion and cation exchange membranes and the exchange of ions in water by ion exchange resins, the directional migration of ions in water is achieved under the action of an electric field, thereby achieving deep purification and desalination of water. The hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions generated by water electrolysis continuously regenerate the packed resin. Therefore, the EDI water production process can continuously produce high-quality ultrapure water without acid and alkali chemical regeneration. It has the advantages of advanced technology, compact structure and simple operation, and can be widely used in power, electronics, pharmaceutical, chemical, food and laboratory fields. It is a green revolution in water treatment technology.

Tap water often contains dissolved salts such as sodium, calcium, magnesium, chlorine, nitrate and silicon. These salts are composed of negatively charged ions (anions) and positively charged ions (cations). Reverse osmosis can remove more than 99% of these ions. Tap water also contains trace metals, dissolved gases (such as CO2) and other weakly ionized compounds (such as silicon and boron) that need to be removed in industrial treatment.

Exchange reactions occur in the pure chemical chamber of the module, where anion exchange resins exchange anions in dissolved salts (such as chloride ions Cl) with their hydroxide ions (OH). Correspondingly, cation exchange resins exchange cations in dissolved salts (such as Na) with their hydrogen ions (H).
